We're less than two weeks from the official start of the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and signs are already cropping up around town to let us know preparations are underway. If you're eagerly awaiting the Hollywood invasion and the chance to be in the audience at one of the dozens of film premieres, then listen up because individual tickets are about to go on sale.
General public tickets will be available online from January 22 through February 3 (while supplies last), but Utahns can get in on the locals pre-sale: Thursday, January 17 from noon to 8 p.m. MT. Each ticket is $25 and you can purchase a maximum of 20 tickets, with a limit of four tickets per screening. Locals can pick up their tickets on January 19 at the location selected at the time of purchase or at the main box office on January 22. When picking up your ticket, you must present a valid Utah driver's license or Utah state ID. There are no refunds if you are unable to prove Utah residency. Note: your purchase address must match the name and address on your ID. Before making a purchase, we highly recommend checking out the Sundance Institute website for all the details.
Also of interest to locals, this year the Best of Fest screening tickets will not be distributed during the locals' pick-up date, but will be available via the eWaitlist instead. The Best of Fest screenings, held on February 4 in Park City, Salt Lake City, and at Sundance Resort, are free to all Utah locals. Similarly, Summit County residents can also sign up for the Townie Tuesday screenings (Jan. 29) on the eWaitlist. Proof of residency is required for both Best of Fest and Townie Tuesday.
