10 Under-the-Radar Park City Eateries

Up and down Main Street, and elsewhere in Park City, you’ll find vaunted, renowned restaurants that justifiably deserve the praise and accolades they receive. But there are equally rewarding eateries off the beaten path or out of the spotlight that are worthy of your appetite. Here are 10 to add to your list. 

At 11Hauz in Kimball Junction, chef-owner Sheron Grant and her team serve authentic cuisine from her native Jamaica. In addition to familiar Jamaican fare like jerk chicken, you’ll also find less-known dishes such as oxtail, curry goat, whole fresh Caribbean snapper, and a Jamaican national dish called ackee and saltfish. The ambience and decor are every bit as vibrant as the food. 1241 Center Dr

Middle Eastern eats at Nosh

At Nosh, chef-owner Jason Greenberg cooks up can’t-miss Middle Eastern cuisine including magnificent mezze, hummus, homemade matzo ball soup, pita sandwiches, and fab falafel, all at very economical prices. Plus, the service couldn’t be friendlier. 1890 Bonanza Dr, Ste 112

For a taste of Thai cuisine head over to Baan Thai, where the flavors are bold and bright. Duck roasted with red chili paste or the massaman curry short ribs are hearty dishes; for something lighter, order the sweet mango curry, tom yum noodle soup, or the green papaya salad. The rambutan stuffed with pineapple on ice is a delectable dessert.  710 Main St, Ste 3-103

What PC Pho might lack in ambience it makes up for in flavor and friendliness. Order a Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk and a spring roll or two, and then settle in for a big, hot bowl of pho. The meat options are too numerous to name, but the brisket is especially good, and PC Pho even offers a delicious vegan pho, as well as fried noodle and rice dishes.  1890 Bonanza Dr, 435-214-7027

One of Park City’s best off-the-beaten-path restaurants is Twisted Fern. Don’t let the shopping center location throw you; it would fit nicely onto Main Street with innovative cuisine, gorgeous decor, and outstanding service. Chef-owner Adam Ross’ from-scratch kitchen pleases guests with dishes like the superb open-faced short rib Shorty Melt sandwich, blue corn crepe, and cauliflower Genovese. At Ganesh Indian Cuisine you’ll discover the flavors of Northern and Southern India with tandoori specialties like lamb boti kebab or tandoori shrimp; curries such as chicken vindaloo, and goat; fresh baked naan, roti, and paratha; and much more, including lassi drinks, beer, and wine.   1811 Sidewinder Dr,  

One of Park City’s best sushi spots is tucked away in a Kimball Junction shopping center: Shoyu Sushi House & Japanese Kitchen. Appetizers such as baked mussels, hamachi kama, and pan-seared salmon salad lead to main attractions like chef Hokky Chandiyana’s outstanding fresh nigiri, sashimi, and sushi rolls. There’s also hot fare including tempura, katsu, teriyaki, and grilled red snapper. 1612 W. Ute Blvd, #116 

For rad ramen, head over to CC and Mike Harrison’s Hana Ramen Bar. Mike trained under the legendary ramen chef Koitani from Tokyo and serves traditional from-scratch tonkotsu ramen (which takes 3-5 days to cook), as well as vegan ramen, black garlic ramen, handmade gyoza, and more. 6546 N Landmark Dr, Ste D

Kuchu Shabu is a terrific spot for casual pan-Asian fare ranging from ramen and pho to gyoza, shabu shabu meals, rice bowls, poke, and stir-fries. Pho lovers will want to order the Snake River Farms American wagyu beef pho paired with a cold beer. 3720 N Sundial Ct, Ste B

Sopes de Pipián from Don Gallo

At Don Gallo, Mexico-born chef Lula Martin Del Campo offers guests marvelous Mexican fare with house specialties such as salmon with black mole or pico de mango, mushroom tinga, albondigas a la Mexicana, mole de olla, tacos, burritos, and much more. And did we mention there are 10 different margaritas to choose from? 412 Main St
