Early season in Park City might mean less now and fewer runs, but it also means no lines, now crowds, and lots of discounts.

Unless you're a die-hard winter addict, the slopes may not seem particularly enticing at the moment given the minimal snow coverage. But early season sliding does have its advantages. Here's our top reasons to quit waiting around for the first epic dump and get back out there.

Get Your Legs Back In Shape

Even if you're doing ski workouts off the snow ahead of the season, you're legs are going to need a minute to get back in optimal skiing or riding condition. Now's a perfect time to take a few runs and see where you're at. After all, you don't want to wake up to a foot of fresh powder and realize you're way to out of shape to spend the whole day in the white room.

Less Crowded

Give it a couple more weeks and the December holiday visitors will be here in full force. Forget the full parking lot and endless traffic home at the end of the day. Right now, you can get a good parking spot even if you show up late morning. The lift lines are practically non-existent and you can easily take as many runs in a single hour in the early season and you could in an entire day later on. Especially if f you are a season pass holder to the mountain, you have nothing to lose.

#First30 at Park City Mountain

Resort management is doing their best to entice visitors to the slopes in the early season and that's good news for us. Park City Mountain is pushing their #First30 campaign hard meaning you can find all kinds of discounts for rentals, ski tuning, spa, and dining ranging from free fries with your Epic Mountain Burger to select days of complimentary coffee at Jupiter Java. In addition to après music at the Legacy Lodge (PC base) and Umbrella Bar (Canyons Village) on weekends, they also added two new major concerts. Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe will play on Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Park City base and Andy Frasco and The U.N. take the Canyons Village Stage on Saturday, Dec. 9. For the full schedule of events, click here.

Deep Discounts on Lodging

If you're an out of town visitor, early season is definitely prime for booking the lowest rates. Park City Mountain's post Thanksgiving Cyber Monday Sale ends at 11:59 p.m. Mountain time on Tuesday, Nov. 28 so you still have a little bit of time to log on and grab up to 50 percent off lodging. Now is also a great time to book at Deer Valley. The skiers only resort opens this weekend, Dec. 2 and early winter visitors can save 25% savings on lodging and lift tickets at a wide range of accommodations managed by Deer Valley through December 14.

The Chance to Race Elite Athletes at Deer Valley

This weekend Deer Valley celebrates their grand opening. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to challenge top notch skiers to a match, now's your chance. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on December 2nd and 3rd, you can go head-t0-head with Deer Valley's resort athletes, including Heidi Voelker, Shannon Bahrke, Kris “Fuzz” Feddersen, Kaylin Richardson, Jillian Vogtli , Trace Worthington and Chris Waddell. Head over to Race Hill at mid-mountain to see what you're made of. If you'd prefer a more relaxed day, you can always enjoy the show while enjoying complimentary cookies and hot beverages from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at both Race Hill and in the Snow Park Lodge Plaza. Stick around for the whole day to enjoy après music and food specials at EBS Lounge from 2:30 to 6 p.m.

See you out there!
