We've been fortunate to have some pretty amazing interns at Salt Lake/Park City Bride & Groom over the years. On any given day, these hard-working gals (we're still waiting for that wedding-loving guy!) are fact-checking vendor information, researching magazine content, writing blog posts, running around town picking up and returning product pulls, and even making their debut in front of the camera as hand/body models at some of our photo shoots. One such gal was Miss Olivia Taylor, whose manicured mitts clutch Blooms & Blossoms' garden bouquet on the cover of our current issue.

Olivia and her longtime beau, Tanner, recently became engaged and we couldn't be happier for the duo. These lovebirds are tying the knot on May 12 in Salt Lake City. Bride-to-be Olivia shares the details of the couple's engagement:

Last October, Tanner and I decided we wanted to get married this May. However, Tanner told me it would be awhile before he was able to afford a ring, so we decided to keep our plan secret until he was able to propose. By December, I was getting antsy and Tanner was working hard to save his money. He finally saved enough and picked out a ring without my knowledge. The weekend before Christmas he told me he wanted to take me on a date to celebrate the holidays. I still had no idea he was even close to being able to afford a ring. He picked me up and we drove to Park City where we ate dinner and looked at Christmas lights. After, Tanner said we were going back home to Salt Lake... I have to admit, I was a little disappointed because I thought he had more planned for the night. So I spent the majority of the ride home pouting. Little did I know, he wanted to take me to his house so we could announce to his family that he had proposed.

I was pretty quiet the whole ride home and then finally Tanner pulled the car over and told me he wanted to cheer me up. We were driving down Emigration Canyon and luckily there were no other cars on the road. He came over to my door, walked me out to the front of the car, got down one one knee, and asked me to marry him. I was completely surprised, and after I said "YES!" I immediately started to apologize for sulking the whole way home. He said he didn't care and told me that the whole time he was just thinking about how happy I was going to be in a few minutes, so he just let me pout.

The proposal may not have been elaborate or perfectly planned, but I loved that it was a moment that Tanner and I got to share together with no one else around. He's the love of my life and knows me better than anyone, and the proposal could not have been more perfect. I can't wait to marry him in a few weeks!
