Engaged! Stephanie Bybee & Matt Landon

By Tessa Woolf October 30, 2013

If you've ever had your hair or makeup did at Studio Enizio, there's a good chance you were in the caring and capable hands of today's featured bride-to-be, Stephanie Bybee. I've known Steph for a number of years through the local wedding scene, and I've had a blast working with her on photo shoots and seeing her beauty talents in action (for the record, the girl's got skills in and out of the salon--she wields a shotgun with the same passion and precision as she does a tube of lipstick). When I heard she'd met her match, I couldn't have been happier. The lucky guy? Matt Landon. Below, take a peek at the couple's engagement photos by Jacque Lynn Photography and read more about the duo, including their proposal story (hint: it involves fishing poles and one big catch of the day).

The Bride- and Groom-To-Be: Stephanie Bybee and Matt Landon

Occupations: She's a permanent cosmetics tech and hair and makeup artist at Studio Enizio; he works for Adobe.

How They Met: On a blind date. Steph was teaching a permanent cosmetics class, and one of her students wanted to set her up with Matt.

Where He Proposed: Black Tail Lake in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Matt wanted to take Steph fishing, so they took their boat out to the middle of the lake where there was a large dock. They fished for awhile, but had no luck. It started to get cold, so Steph handed Matt her fishing pole and went back to the boat to get her jacket. While she was gone, Matt quickly hooked the engagement ring on the end of Steph's fishing line and tossed it back in the water. When Steph returned, she took her pole from Matt and reeled it in to recast her line. When she got it all reeled in, she spotted the ring dangling on the end of the line. She was shocked, and couldn't believe Matt had the guts to toss the ring in the water. She looked over at him, and he was down on one knee and popped the big question.

The Ring: Classic and elegant, with a thin rose gold band and a single solitaire diamond

The Engagement Photos: Steph and Matt both grew up in the country and love the outdoors. They wanted their engagement photos to be in a natural environment, so they headed to Big Cottonwood Canyon with their photographer, Jacque Lynn.

The Wedding: The duo are tying the knot on November 2, 2013 (this weekend!) at the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Their wedding style is clean and classic with a slight rustic feel.

Congratulations Steph and Matt! Best wishes this weekend!
