Institution is a descriptor not applicable to many eating establishments, but it's more than appropriate when describing Caputo's. For almost 20 years, this has been and is the place in Utah for quality cured meats, imported and locally sourced cheese (stored in one of the country's few cheese caves), a vast selection of more than 300 chocolate bars from around the world, vinegars, olives, and much, much more. Stop in for a sandwich (try the signature "Caputo," made with prosciutto, mortadella, salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, olive oil, and balsalmic vinegar) or simply pack up a grocery bag full of treats for later.
