Back in November, Bravo TV launched The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City—the newest addition to its roster of hit, high-drama “Real Housewives” reality television series. While the title of the show spotlights SLC, cast member Meredith Marks and her family reside in Park City, and she recently opened a storefront for her namesake luxury jewelry collection in the heart of town (511 Main St, 435.200.8884, meredithmarks.com). We caught up with Marks to get the scoop on filming RHOSLC, her blingy new boutique and Park City–inspired designs, and why her life in the mountains is “hashtag blessed,” to quote her famous sound bite from the show.

PARK CITY MAGAZINE: You’re a Chicago native but now call Park City home. What brought your family to Park City, and how long you have lived here?
MEREDITH MARKS: We moved to Park City approximately 10 years ago. My husband, Seth, was an executive at Overstock.com, which is based in Salt Lake City. We were in Utah full-time for a few years, and when Seth left Overstock.com we kept part-time residences in both Park City and Chicago.

PCM: What’s your favorite thing about living in Park City?
MM: Park City is a magical place. I love the beauty of the mountains and all of the outdoor activities they provide. I love to ski—typically at Deer Valley. Park City is my peaceful place.

PCM: What are some of your favorite hot spots in Park City?
MM: For restaurants, I love Handle, Firewood, and Goldener Hirsch. And I love the spas at the St. Regis Deer Valley and Stein Eriksen.

PCM: Tell us about your new jewelry store on Main Street.
MM: I opened the Meredith Marks boutique about two years ago. I have wanted a Main Street boutique for many years, and it took a very long time to find the perfect space. Aside from my jewelry, I have a small handbag collection and some apparel as well that I designed. We have collections from a few other designers in the store, too.

PCM: How did you get started in the jewelry business?
MM: I started my jewelry collection about 12 years ago. Prior to launching the collection, I had received graduate degrees in law and business from Northwestern University, and I was developing real estate in Chicago. One morning after I dropped my oldest son off at school, I was aggressively mugged. I had three small children at the time, and the experience really made me reevaluate everything in my life. I felt distracted by my real-estate projects and felt I needed more time with my children, which led me to starting the jewelry collection.

PCM: What inspires your jewelry designs?
MM: Inspiration is everywhere! The Spike Collection was inspired by a piece of foliage I found on a Park City hiking trail. The Stardust Collection was inspired by looking at the stars at night in the Park City sky. The list goes on!

PCM: Who are some of your celebrity clients?
MM: I have a very loyal clientele and celebrity following. I am grateful for all of my clients, but some of the celebs you may recognize in my jewelry are Rihanna, Charlize Theron, Tina Fey, Oprah Winfrey, and more.

PCM: What’s been the most fun about filming RHOSLC?
MM: The most fun was the lighthearted moments when there was no crazy drama—and the times I had with my family.

PCM: Can fans expect a Season Two of RHOSLC?
MM: I hope so!
