A Peek Inside The Retreat at the Park
Park City Municipal unveils its newest affordable housing community, eight adorable single-family homes adjacent to City Park.
Under quintessential bluebird skies and with newly snow-covered ski slopes as a backdrop, today a group of Park City government officials, staff, and stakeholders unveiled the city's long-anticipated affordable housing complex, The Retreat at the Park.
Nestled tightly between Park Ave and City Park, these eight colorful single-family homes adeptly reflect the mining shack architecture typical of Old Town. But with price tags ranging from $192,153 to $280,291, these cute prime-location homes were, by design, offered at around 80 percent less comparable dwellings in the area.
Park City residents meeting the state definition of moderate income--80 percent of Area Median Income (AMI), which in 2017 was $74,448 for a family of three living in Summit County--were were allowed to apply to purchase one of the homes last summer. Ninety-nine residents went through the application process and, in September 2017, eight were selected by lottery. The Retreat homeowners will begin moving in within about a month.
