In Park City, we pride ourselves in giving back to the community and with dozens of high-quality non-profits and events, there's no lack of ways to spread the love around. Here are just a few ways you can give back this summer.

Kimball Arts Festival

A staple annual event in Park City, the Kimball Arts Festival (August 3-5) wouldn't be the success it is without the efforts of roughly 500 volunteers. This year's festival will once again feature an array of artists from all over the country, tasty food, live music, kids activities, and so much more. Volunteers do everything from helping with pre-festival set-up to face painting, running the concessions, and beyond. In return, you'll receive free entry for all three days of the festival, a goody bag filled with swag, access to food and drinks in the Volunteer Lounge, and a chance to win prizes, including an individual year membership to the Kimball Art Center. For more information on volunteering, contact [email protected] or 435.649.8882, ext. 102 or you can sign up here

Tour of Utah

Top tier cyclists and their teams will see how they stack up against the grueling challenges presented in the Tour of Utah from August 6 to 12 this year. The world class racing event, a.k.a. "America's toughest road race," includes several stops from St. George to Salt Lake City, but the final stage will once again culminate in Park City where racers will ride to the finish line on Main Street. Want to be part of the action? The Tour of Utah is looking for hardworking, enthusiastic, and friendly volunteers (preferably over age 18) to help with check-ins, production, assisting media, hospitality, and more in each host city. Find out more and submit an application via the Tour of Utah website

National Ability Center Summit Challenge

Another event for cycling enthusiasts to put on their calendar is the National Ability Center's popular Summit Challenge, returning for its eleventh year from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 25. This unique fundraiser supports the NAC's exceptional programming and offers riders of all abilities the chance to tour the scenic mountains of both Summit and Wasatch County, with a variety of courses ranging from 16 to 100 miles. Volunteer opportunities are available pre-, day of, and post-event, including helping with registration, aid-stations, on-course directions, and more. Those interested in volunteering should email [email protected] or call the Volunteer Coordinator at 435.649.3991 x625.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

After years of dedicated work in the community fighting domestic abuse, the Peace House is taking their efforts even further with the building of a new community campus. With their ever expanding programs, they are always on the hunt for volunteers, including ones to help them put on a successful Walk a Mile in Her Shoes (August 26). The event features men walking in heels for a change and aims to raise awareness for domestic violence. Volunteers are needed for a number of jobs, including gift bag assembly, event photography, checking participants in, running the food table, and more. You can find out more about volunteering and sign up for shifts here

Hike 4 Hunger

You're already hiking and biking all summer long, so why not put all those miles towards a good cause? The annual Hike for Hunger (September 8), put on by the Christian Center of Park City (CCPC), raises awareness of hunger issues in the county and highlights Park City's efforts to go Zero Waste by diverting food to those in need. Sign up to hike or bike with your friends and family, plus enjoy tons of food, live music, and fun activities. Check out the CCPC website for all their volunteer opportunities and specifics on working this event.
