3 Ways to Flow in Park City This Summer
For the yogi on a budget (free)
If you're looking to get centered without paying upwards of $20, you're in luck. The summer season offers a bounty of free yoga classes, including here in Park City. On Tuesdays at 6 p.m., get a complimentary class at City Park courtesy of lululemon (333 Main St). Bring you own mat, a water bottle, and layers (Park City gets chilly in the evenings). For details, call 435.649.3485.
As if that wasn't enough, Park City Library (1255 Park Ave) also hosts free community yoga classes every Saturday morning at 10 a.m. from now until August 25 (except August 4). Grab your map and join fellow yogis on the patio. Join the FB event page here.
For the animal lover
Two words: Goat. Yoga. Yes, it's exactly what you think it is and it's caught on in Utah, albeit not in Park City. Join Utah Goat Yoga (3763 West 1800 North, Clearfield, Utah) for a yoga session at their quaint, rural farm alongside a gaggle of goats. Admittedly, this one is a bit of a drive and only for warriors who don't mind goats stomping all over their yoga mats. If nothing else, you'll get some fun pics and a great story to tell. Find more information and sign-up for you class here.
For the adventurer
If sun salutations at the top of a mountain are more your scene, then check out Park City Yoga Adventures. Helmed by rock climber and yogini Julia Geisler, Park City Yoga Adventures offers a myriad of adventures for thrill seeking yogis, including paddle board yoga inside a geothermal crater, hiking (snowshoeing during the winter) up a mountain ahead of your class, and more. Another option for adding a bit of adrenaline to your practice is Back Country Yogis which also offers hikes and paddle board sessions.
Namaste Park City.
