Description

Norman Oppenheimer is a small time New York fixer who befriends a young politician at a low point in his life. Three years later, when the politician becomes the prime minister of Israel, Norman's life dramatically changes for better and worse. Richard Gere, who provides an intricate portrait of a particular New York character, keeps getting better late in his career.

This delicate, novelistic character study is what more American independent films would be like if more were made by thoughtful grown-ups who gravitated toward nuance and complexity. - Los Angles Times
