Avoid crowded lift lines and head to wide, open fields for a lesson with Uinta Kiting’s Snowkiting School (435.647.6676, uintakiting.com). Kiteboarding is relatively similar to windsurfing—strap into your gear and literally harness the wind to experience one of winter’s most exhilarating sports. More good news: the learning curve for snowkiting (a.k.a. kite skiing) is relatively easy for intermediate to advanced skiers or boarders; newbies will find themselves leaping and soaring in no time. $178 per two-hour lesson (including equipment) available daily; longer lessons also available at $89 per additional hour.
