Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. and 8 p.m launches @ various locations around Park City

See balloonists paint the sky at Autumn Aloft. Aside from the main, colorful launch in the morning, be sure to catch the "Candlestick" magic (choreographed balloon burners atop baskets) in Old Town in the evening. Tethered rides may be available on a first-come, first-served basis (but are not guaranteed). Hot air balloon events are subject to weather conditions including wind speeds based on venue, wind direction and gusts. autumnaloft.com

Park City Film: Pavarotti

Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.; Sunday at 6 p.m. @ the Park City Library

The filmmaking team behind The Beatles: Eight Days A Week brings Pavarotti, an in-depth window into the life of the legend, Luciano Pavarotti. Academy Award winner Ron Howard blends riveting performances, intimate interviews, and never-before-seen footage to pay tribute to the master who truly brought opera to the people. Park City Museum

Explore Park City’s rich mining history through interactive and educational exhibits that take you into a mine shaft and old-time jail. Children can complete a “Park City History Detectives” activity, digging deeper into the past. parkcityhistory.org

Stream and Riparian Restoration Project

9–4 p.m. @ Swaner Nature Preserve/East Canyon Creek

Help Swaner Nature Preserve build BDA’s on East Canyon Creek. A Beaver Dam Analog (BDA) is a man-made structure that mimics the form and function of a natural beaver dam. This fun outdoor project helps improve habitat and water quality. Some waders and boots are available, but people should bring their own boots if they have them. Kids 10+ welcome with a parent. Snyderville Station

Saturday Morning Nature Walk

8:30–10 a.m. @ Swaner EcoCenter

Discover the Swaner Preserve with a guided nature tour, navigating the wetlands while learning about the diverse plant and animal species found in its grasses and waters. Keep your eyes peeled for an abundance of birds, elk, and perhaps a nesting sandhill crane. $10 per person, $5 locals, free for Swaner members. swanerecocenter.org

American Prairie Reserve Celebration

Hike for Hunger

Swaner’s Avian Adventures 4

7–9 a.m. @  Swaner Preserve

Don’t miss the last birding tour on the Preserve in 2019. Legendary Utah birder Kenny Frisch guides an early morning excursion to view and identify local and migratory feathered friends on the Preserve. Please wear hiking shoes or boots that can get wet, and be prepared for uneven soggy ground. Binoculars provided, or bring your own if you have a pair you prefer.
