The 2019 World Championships in Snowboard, Freestyle, and Freeski will be contested February 1-10, 2019 in Park City and Solitude, Utah.

Are you a young filmmaker looking to make your mark? Well pay attention because we've got an opportunity for you. To celebrate the 2019 FIS Freestyle, Snowboarding and Freeski World Championships (February 1-10, 2019 at Deer Valley, Park City Mountain, and Solitude) the Park City Summit Arts Council (PCSC Arts), the Park City Film Series, and the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team have come together to sponsor the Breaking Boundaries // 2019 Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Champs Youth Film Contest. The winner of the contest, which is open to anyone 21 and under, offers youth filmmakers to snag some sweet prizes, including a $2,500 cash grand prize as well as a chance to work with U.S. Ski & Snowboard's content department.

The contest was created after U.S. Ski & Snowboard approached the PCSC Arts Council about collaborating. Their goal was to activate the community for the 2019 World Championships using arts and culture as a connection. During a brainstorming session, the two organizations decided partnering with the Park City Film Series for a youth film contest would encourage youth to get out and tell their stories of breaking boundaries. "The Arts Council is thrilled to partner with U.S. Ski & Snowboard and the Park City Film Series on this project. Our organization is always looking for new ways to connect arts and culture to our community," says Jocelyn Scudder, Community Manager at PCSC Arts. "The goal of the contest is to tie arts, culture and recreation together in celebration of the 2019 World Championships. We are excited to present this project to Summit, Wasatch, and Salt Lake County youth and hope to see some creative submissions that break boundaries!"

To enter the contest all you need to do is make a short film about breaking boundaries. While the theme honors the boundary-pushing elite athletes of competitive snowboarding, freestyle, and freeskiing, submitted films do not have to be about skiing or snowboarding, or even sports; feel free to tell any story you feel would be inspiring to the community and the athletes of the 2019 World Championships.

The Prizes

In addition to a $2,500 cash prize, the winner of the contest will also get a one month exclusive experience working with U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s content department where they'll be working with both the in-house content team as well as the host broadcaster feature team capturing behind the scenes stories of the 2019 World Championships. The winner will also receive a team uniform from the event's Organizing Committee and Media/Broadcast accreditation for the event including lift access for the Championships.

The contest runner up will get two VIP tickets for up to four Championships competition finals events and $500 cash.
