Light It Up
If you're looking to celebrate the New Year slope side, then Park City Mountain's Canyons Village is where you want to be. After a day of sliding, you can ring in 2018 at the Grand Summit Hotel's Roaring Twenties New Year's Party ($169 - Adults; $99 - Children 12 and under). The evening includes dinner, live entertainment, and a dance floor open till 1 a.m.
Canyons Village will also host the Metro Music Club on the Canyons Village Stage from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and light up the sky with the annual fireworks display at 7:30 p.m.
If you're in town the whole weekend, we also suggest hitting Deer Valley Resort on December 30 for the annual Torchlight Parade. Watch skiers descend the Big Stick ski run to Snow Park Lodge around 6 p.m. Complimentary hot cider and cookies will served in the plaza ahead of the event.
Olympic Team Trials
As one of the world's winter sports meccas, it makes sense that Park City is hosting a major sporting event at the close of the year. If you're in town on December 30 and 31, we highly recommend you head over to the Utah Olympic Park to catch the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping. Unless you're flying to South Korea for the actual games, this is a close to the action as you're going to get. You can see the full schedule of events via the UOP website. Pro Tip: Leave your vehicle at home and take the free bus out to the Kimball Junction Transit Center where you can catch a shuttle running on a continuos loop up to the UOP during the event.

Shake Your Groove Thing
If you want to party the old-fashioned way, a.k.a. dance it out all night long out on the town, then head over to Main Street where the bar scene is sure to be hopping. There you travel from bar to bar or, if you'd rather stay in one place, grab tickets to the New Year's Eve Black & White Masquerade at Park City Live where celebrity DJ Ross One will be dropping beats. Or join local favorite Badfeather at O.P. Rockwell where this homegrown ensemble will be sharing some tasty guitar solos, funky keyboard lines, and driving rhythms the will make it impossible for you not to dance.
However you celebrate, we hope you have a fantastic end of the year! Catch you in 2018!
