Want to get creative or pick up a new skill this holiday season? Here are a few seasonally-inspired classes to add to your calendar.
Holiday Floral Arrangements
Bring some extra flare to your table this holiday season with a unique floral arrangement. On November 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Red Butte Garden is hosting a centerpiece making class with floral designer and horticulturalist Scott Mower. Take a trip down the canyon to Salt Lake City and learn a few basics about flower design before putting your skills to the test by creating your very own centerpiece to take home. Thanksgiving Day Workouts at PC MARC
Between get together with family and friends, it's not uncommon to find yourself feeling a bit self conscious about your bulging waistline. If you want to burn off a few of the extra holiday calories, head over to PC MARC on Thanksgiving during the morning hours (starting at 7:30 a.m.) for cycling, yoga, drop-in pickleball, and more. Winter Holiday Macarons Cooking Class
Every month, Mindful Cuisine dishes up a number of cooking classes for anyone interested in cooking or indulging in themed plates. On December 5 from 6 to 9 p.m., get ready to delve into the art of making French Macarons. Come to the class ready to mix, pipe, and bake the meringue shells and create a variety of seasonal flavors, including eggnog, peppermint, and chocolate. After the class, you should be able to whip of your own unique variations to impress family and friends this holiday season. The class is $75/per person and open to children 14 and older with a parent. Make sure to sign-up here before December 3 to secure your spot.
Handmade Holiday Cards
In our digital world, paper and pen have nearly become extinct in our daily lives. During the holiday season, however, cards are definitely still a thing. Instead of picking out your cards at the store this year, check out the Kimball Art Center's class on Handmade Holiday Cards on December 8. This is a perfect class to bring the whole family along where you can all learn a number of different printmaking techniques and leave with a set of cards to send off to your loved ones.
