The Dirt doughnut from Peace, Love & Little Donuts

Anyone who’s witnessed the lines out the door at Doughnut Plant in Manhattan or Voodoo Doughnut in Portland knows that doughnuts are having a moment. The trend is not limited to urban locales, however. For those who crave a crispy-on-the-outside and more dense but still fluffy-on-the-inside slice of fried nirvana,  Peace, Love & Little Donuts (738 Main St, 435.565.1799), tucked into the shopping plaza across from the Town Lift at the bottom of Main Street in worth seeking out.

Owner Lange “Donut Baron” Palmer realized his destiny to get up early and fry while on a trip to see his beloved Steelers play in Pittsburgh, home of the Peace, Love & Little Donuts franchise. “As soon as I tried one of these doughnuts, I knew opening a Peace, Love & Little Donuts in Park City was what I wanted to do,” he says. Lange and his staff make donuts all day long from a house-made cake dough. The menu spans more than 40 varieties, including the kid-favorite Dirt (icing, crushed Oreos, and a gummy worm), Maple Bacon (enough said), and Samoa (just like the Girl Scout cookie).

So, after you’ve pedaled the Mid Mountain Trail or hiked to Jupiter Peak—or even just completed some mundane task like cleaning out your garage—treat yourself to one of Palmer's fried bundles of deliciousness. Go ahead and get two; they're small and you deserve it.
