Winter at high altitudes can really do a number on you in the beauty and style departments. Have no fear because owner of the chic Cake Boutique and C|Two by Cake, Katie Hammond is offering her sage advice on how to survive winter and remain stylish despite the cold weather. .

FASHION & STYLE

360 Sweater cashmere pieces “They’re soft, comfy, and very versatile; you can wear them at home with leggings or out to dinner at Riverhorse,” says Hammond.

Anything by Vince “Their pieces are modern but not trendy.”

High-waist denim “I love a high-waist skinny jean; I can’t get enough of it,” she says. “I spent a couple of years being pregnant, and I couldn’t wear them, so I’m excited to wear them now. They’re cute with a crop top that skims the waist or with a long sweater.”

Black leather skirt “A basic black leather skirt is super fun,” she says. “Wear it with black booties and a chunky cardigan or a sweater.”

Rag & Bone Newbury Boot “They’re the perfect heel height for Park City,” she notes. “You can wear them to work and dinner, or to the park with your kids.”

Maison du Soir jersey-knit pajamas “They’re really cute; you won’t be embarrassed if you’re caught wearing them.”

Stella McCartney lingerie “These pieces aren’t sexy teddys and garter belts,” Hammond explains. “They’re pretty and functional, like a pretty black lace bra and cute little red-heart print PJs.”

Sundry loungewear – “This brand out of L.A. make soft leggings called skinny yoga pants, and sweats and shirts dyed in cute colors. You can wear them on the weekend to grab coffee or just lounge in them at home.”

BEAUTY & SKINCARE

Moon Dust “These pharmaceutical-grade supplements come from a store in Venice named Moon Juice, known for their raw foods and juices,” says Hammond. “These powders are organic and vegan; you can add them to water or nut milks. Power Dust is energizing—like a cup of coffee without the caffeine. Sex Dust is an aphrodisiac made with Maca powder. Sleep Dust is great to use at night to promote sleep. Brain Dust makes you laser-focused. And Beauty Dust, my favorite, features crushed pearls—its good for the skin, nails, and hair. These all make cute stocking stuffers or bridesmaid gifts.”

Christophe Robin “This hair care line is out of France; I’m loving it,” she says. “They make a sea salt scrub for the scalp—it’s a deep cleanser and great for an oily or sensitive scalp. My hair is squeaky clean after I use it. It’s one of those products you don’t know you need until you try it.”

Indie Lee “This organic, all natural skincare line is free of toxins,” explains Hammond. “The founder, Indie Lee, suffered a brain tumor thought to be brought on by environmental toxins. The body oils are amazing and super moisturizing. I like using the lavender-chamomile oil after a nighttime bath.”

Cane + Austin “This skincare line is formulated with glycolic acid derived from sugar cane,” she says. “The at-home facial and body treatments exfoliate, moisturize, reduce fine lines, and even skin tone.”

Slip “These silk pillowcases are crease-free and promote antiaging and anti-bedhead. I thought silk pillowcases were a joke,” she says with a laugh. “But if you think about it, you spend one-third of your life sleeping (hopefully). I’m a side sleeper, and especially if you sleep on your side, a cotton pillowcase can contribute to facial lines and damaged hair.”

Smith and Cult “Created by the same woman who started Hand Candy cosmetics, this line of nail polishes and lip glosses is innovated and sophisticated, and features beautiful colors,” says Hammond.

Grown Alchemist “This plant-derived, toxin- and chemical-free skincare is based out of Melbourne, Australia,” notes Hammond.

ILIA Beauty “Organic makeup with a focus on lip care, featuring tinted lip conditioners, lip sticks, crayons, glosses, and balms,” she says.

Sara Happ A collection of exfoliating lip scrubs, balms, and glosses. “The Lip Slip is the lip balm to end all lip balms,” says Hammond. “You put it on at night and it’s still on your lips in the morning.”

Supergoop! “Sunscreen is a must in Park City,” Hammond advises. “People get up here and they don’t realize how high and dry we are. Supergoop products are nicely packaged and make sunscreen easy to apply and easy to wear. They have a setting spray that you can mist on your face and it reactivates your sunscreen to SPF 50. I use their lightweight serum with vitamin E every day under my moisturizer.”
